About Me
I'm originally from the Lake District, where my family still live. Studied Graphic Design at Harrogate Art College and Middlesex University in London. My first job took me to Trowbridge, Wiltshire where I was tasked with re-designing the local paper from a tired old broadsheet to the more modern looking tabloid it is today. I've been here ever since and have worked for several different companies and also freelance over the years.
After receiving several poems from me, my girlfriend told me I "need to do something with that talent", so here we are!
I have a lovely daughter Isla, who asked me to write a book about witches. "The Witches' Tea Party" was published in January 2019.
Moved by numerous posts on social media about marine life trapped in floating waste (and based on an actual turtle I met on holiday) , I then wrote "Turtle Trouble"; about pollution and recycling; endorsed by seven environmental agencies. Both books have really taken off and my days are now busy with author visits to schools, libraries and community centres. I also do video story times.
When I'm not writing, I love adventures in my vw campervan, mountain biking and climbing. I like to keep active!
My dream would be to become a successful published author full time and give up my day job. I also have some other crazy plans, but the world's not ready for that yet!
